¶ Area of Responsibility

¶ MYNN - Nassau (Lynden Pindling International Airport)
¶ IFR Departures
- IFR flights with destinations within the Nassau FIR will be accepted with DIRECT routing.
- All IFR aircraft will be issued an initial altitude of 4,000
- Ensure that routing and altitudes correlate with the Nassau FIR Preferred routing/altitudes
¶ VFR Departures
- All VFR departures out of MYNN must be assigned a unique transponder code.
- Ensure that altitudes are below FL180, are even when flying West, Odd, when flying East, and add 500 for VFR

¶ Area of Responsibility
- Jurisdiction of all taxiways except for taxiway Bravo between runway 14 and 10.
- Terminal A: Domestic & International Departures, Domestic Arrivals
- Terminal B: International Arrivals
- Terminal C: US Departures
¶ Pushback
- Ensure aircraft are facing west after pushback (pointing towards taxiway H)
¶ Preferred Taxiways
- When runway 14 is active, aircraft will predominantly taxi north westbound on taxiway H. Give priority to aircraft already on H, and have aircraft waiting to join H give way to them.
- When runway 32 is active, aircraft landing on 32 should hold short of H until traffic taxiing out to runway 32/28 have passed the intersection in which the landing aircraft is holding short of prior to issuing taxi clearance to the gate.
¶ FBO Parking (Odyssey)
- Odyssey Aviation is an FBO at MYNN mainly used for private jets. It is located south of runway 10 and 14.
- Aircraft taxiing into Odyssey must enter through taxiway K.
- Aircraft taxiing out of Odyssey must exit through taxiway L.
- Taxiway M is not connected to the northern main part of Odyssey Aviation.
¶ Area of Responsibility
- Jurisdiction of all runways, Taxiway B between runways 10 and 14, and the Class D airspace from SFC-2500ft

Note: When winds are greater than 15 knots, runways within 30 degrees of the wind direction will be used. If not possible, the runway closest to the bearing of the wind will be used.
¶ LAHSO
- Land and Hold short operations will always be in effect when runway 10 is in use for arriving aircraft.
- Land and hold short is authorized on runway 10, to hold short of runway 14
- Advise other traffic in the vicinity of any aircraft landing and holding short of runway 14 where necessary.
¶ IFR Departures
- All IFR Departures will be instructed to fly runway heading on departure. Radar controllers will issue the initial turn to all IFR aircraft, unless coordinated differently.
- Aircraft with the same initial fix/airway must be separated by 5nm before the second aircraft can be cleared for takeoff.
- When aircraft are departing in opposite directions, eg. NICKO and INGRA, they can be separated using Same runway separation.
- Handoff aircraft to departure by initiating a voice handoff before they reach 1,500 feet.
¶ VFR Departures
- VFR Aircraft can be given on course clearance with a takeoff clearance at the discretion of the tower controller. The controller must first look to see if their departure path will converge with any other aircraft within the Nassau Class D airspace.
- For example, a VFR flight from MYNN to MYAN should not be cleared on course if there is an aircraft on final for runway 10.
- VFR departures must be handed off to departure before reaching 2,500 feet.
- VFR departures will not be assigned an initial altitude.
¶ Area of Responsibility
- Controls within the dimensions of the Nassau Approach airspace boundaries from surface to 12,000 feet.
- Use speeds, headings, and altitude assignments to separate aircraft by a minimum of 5 miles or 1000 feet at all times.
- Issue approach clearances to aircraft arriving in MYNN.
- Vector departing aircraft to their respective departure fix and issue climbs.
- Provide flight following for VFR aircraft transitioning, entering, and leaving Nassau’s airspace.
- Provide approach services to aircraft arriving into satellite fields within the boundaries of the Nassau Approach airspace.
- Ensure that aircraft departing and arriving satellite fields are squawking VFR (1200).
- IFR aircraft arriving into uncontrolled fields should cancel their IFR prior to landing.
- Aircraft departing uncontrolled fields should depart VFR and request IFR in the air with Nassau Approach.
¶ Arrival/Departure Transition Areas
All IFR aircraft will be routed into or out of the the Nassau TRACON via one of the following fixes.
- HANKX
- RAJAY
- SANNS
- HASUK
- SEAAN
- MAMML
Exceptions exist for flights to south florida joining the VIICE / OHLAS STARs
¶ Uncontrolled fields
¶ Arrivals
- VFR Aircraft - All VFR Aircraft arriving into uncontrolled fields will be changed to unicom and told to squawk VFR (1200) at least 25 NM from their destination airport. This will allow the aircraft to communicate on unicom to discuss traffic at their arrival airport.
- IFR Aircraft - IFR Aircraft inbound to uncontrolled fields are to cancel IFR in the air before landing. The uncontrolled airports within the Nassau FIR Are VFR only, therefore all aircraft in and out of these fields must be squawking 1200.
- Approaches - ATC cannot determine which runway an aircraft arriving into an uncontrolled airfield will land at. They are also never given an approach clearance.
- IMC Conditions - If an uncontrolled airport is in IMC conditions, the aircraft will have to divert to an alternate airport.
¶ Departures
VFR Aircraft - VFR Aircraft departing uncontrolled airfields will call Nassau Center for flight following once airborne, or remain on unicom. No flight plan is required for VFR pilots, the controller can create one using the ATC client.
IFR Aircraft - IFR aircraft departing uncontrolled fields will depart VFR and pick up their IFR in the air with Nassau Center. IFR clearance is not given on the ground, so all aircraft must depart VFR.

Callsign. Reaback correct, push and start at your discretion, expect runway ___ for departure, advise when ready to taxi.

Line up:

¶ MYGF - Freeport (Grand Bahama International Airport)
¶ IFR Departures
- Initial altitude 4,000ft
- Beacon Code Assignment 4401 - 4477
- RNAV departures are preferred (BUUCK, JOAAN). If not RNAV capable clear via appropriate departure fix and/or Bahama Route. Below is a list of departure fixes:
- MAYKO
- MUNRO
- ULAMA
- FLINY
- CEGUR
¶ IFR Clearance Example:
- “American 123, Freeport Clearance Delivery, Cleared to Palm Beach International, BUUCK2 departure then as filed, maintain 4,000, expect filed flight level ten minutes after departure. Departure frequency on 121.0, squawk 4401”
- If no SID is filed: “American 123, Freeport Clearance Delivery, Cleared to Palm Beach International, radar vectors (fix), maintain 4,000, expect filed flight level ten minutes after departure. Departure frequency on 121.0, squawk 4401”
¶ VFR Departures
- Issue initial VFR altitude at or below 1,500ft for PROPS, at or below 2,500 for JETS
- Ground Control has Jurisdiction over all aircraft on any taxiway
- Back-Track Taxi REQUIRED for departures off RWY 24. Preferred taxi route is via H, E. Taxiway H may also be used.
- USE CAUTION Arrivals landing RWY 06 will need back-taxi from TWR, plan accordingly.
¶ Area of Responsibility
- Responsible for all VFR aircraft within side the Freeport Class Delta at or below 1,500’
¶ Runway Configuration
- If winds are under 5 knots from any direction RWY 06 shall be used.
- If winds are over 6 knots from a direction of 340-160 RWY 06 shall be used.
- If winds are over 6 knots from a direction 159-339 RWY 24 shall be used.
¶ Departure Separation
- RNAV SID aircraft will fly as published off the runway.
- Non RNAV Procedures fly runway heading
¶ Arrival Separation
- You can give a landing clearance when a takeoff clearance is given, however, multiple landing clearances are not allowed. You must say: "Callsign, continue approach number 2"
- Aircraft on missed approach/go around shall be issued a 90 degree turn left/right of centerline, altitude 4,000ft. Once aircraft is established, clear of traffic, coordinate with departure/arrival and handoff
¶ Backtrack
- Back-Track required for rwy 24 Departures. This will be done from taxiway H or E. Use caution for arrivals exiting runway, may have to tell aircraft to exit full length at A due to traffic holding at H or E.
