Controllers are required to complete the ATIS information and tune to the correct frequency before connecting to the server.
In the event that there are no further upper ATC facilities available, controllers shall instruct pilots to switch to UNICOM on the frequency 122.800 MHz.
This procedure is applicable to the Main ATS Communication Facilities. However, in the event that Suvarnabhumi Airport receives Full ATS Communication Facilities, the controller must ensure to verify the next controller's frequency accurately before transferring instructions to the pilot.
NOTAMs: NOtice To AirMens.
SIDs: Standard Instrument Departures.
STARs: STandard Arrival Routes.
Delivery Phraseology Example:
The ground controller has the capability to refer to the aerodrome chart to identify and provide the appropriate taxi route for aircraft movements on the ground.
New Satellite-1 Terminal (SAT-1) may be visible in some simulator. This terminal is at the time of writing not in use. Please refer to latest aerodrome chart for further information
Ground Phraseology Example:
[Departure]
[Arrival]
The controller must ensure that the runway is not occupied by any aircraft or vehicles before issuing any clearance.
Controller would give take off/landing clearance with the following information:
a. Wind direction and speed
b. Approach frequency
c. Any NOTAMs (if required)
d. Runway that cleared for take off / to land
In case of runway is occupied and another aircraft is on short final approach. Controller may tell the pilot to do go around procedure.
In case of heavy traffic e.g. IVAO official events parallel runway operation may be used.
Tower Phraseology Example:
[Departure]
[In case of another traffic on final approach]
[Arrival]
[In case of another traffic on final approach]
At this ATC position Controller is responsible for traffic from VTBS and VTBD. Controller need to think carefully before issue any clearance.
Approach Phraseology Example:
[Departure]
[Arrival aircraft on EASTE3C Arrival]

For more information: AIP THAILAND, On Part 3, AD 2 Aerodromes, VTBS
To avoid jet blast in the apron areas, pilots are urgently requested to strictly adhere to the startup and pushback procedures. They should use minimum breakaway power and taxi power when operating on the aprons and taxilanes. Additionally, aircraft should be pushed back and towed forward along the yellow taxilane center line marking.
Pushback and startup instructions can be found in the AIP THAILAND in Part 3, AD 2 Aerodromes, VTBS AD 2.20.4.
To improve the flow of ground traffic at Suvarnabhumi Airport, there is a designated taxi route for inbound and outbound aircraft. The taxi route can be found in the AIP THAILAND in Part 3, AD 2 Aerodromes, VTBS AD 2.20.5. There is also a chart available in the AIP displaying the taxi route for each runway.
Landing area and condition of flying into Suvarnabhumi Airport are as follow:
FATO - Final Approach and Take off
TLOF - Touchdown and Lift-off area
Fuel jettison area has been establish in the Bangkok TMA to facilitate emergency aircraft in the following area.
In the event that there is less traffic departing and arriving in the Bangkok TMA, shortcuts could be issued to aircraft arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport. To facilitate these shortcuts, the approach controller must Cancel Level Restrictions imposed on aircraft according to the STARs. Once the approach controller cancels the level restrictions, they can issue lower clearances for the arriving aircraft to facilitate the shortcuts, as shown below.
Aircraft arriving on the NORTA3C or WILLA3C STARs can expect a shortcut at BS502 direct to ROMME (19R) / LANCO (19L) or RYAUN (19R) / LINSY (19L). It is recommended that aircraft maintain an altitude of at or below 5,000 ft at BS502 to utilize this shortcut. If the aircraft is unable to take the initial shortcut, the next available shortcut is at WALTZ direct to REWCO (19R) / LEMOS (19L).
Aircraft arriving on the DOLNI3C, EASTE3C or LEBIM3C STARs can expect a shortcut at BS503 direct to ROMME (19R) / LANCO (19L). It is recommended that aircraft maintain an altitude of at or below 4,500 ft at BS503 to utilize this shortcut. If the aircraft is unable to take the initial shortcut, the next available shortcut is at BS501 direct to RYAUN (19R) / LINSY (19L). It is recommended that aircraft maintain an altitude of at or below 5,000 ft at BS501 to utilize this shortcut. If the aircraft is unable to take the second shortcut, the next available shortcut is at EKCHO direct to REWCO (19R) / LEMOS (19L).
Aircraft arriving on the NORTA3D or WILLA3D STARs can expect a shortcut at TAPPA direct to LONNY (01R) / RAYPA (01L). It is recommended that aircraft maintain an altitude of at or below 4,500 ft at TAPPA to utilize this shortcut. If the aircraft is unable to take the initial shortcut, the next available shortcut is at WOCAL direct to RISSE (19L) / LACOS (19R).
Aircraft arriving on the DOLNI3C, EASTE3C or LEBIM3C STARs can expect a shortcut at SALSA direct to LONNY (01R) / RAYPA (01L). It is recommended that aircraft maintain an altitude of at or below 4,500 ft at SALSA to utilize this shortcut. If the aircraft is unable to take the initial shortcut, the next available shortcut is at ENKAA direct to RISSE (19L) / LACOS (19R).
