Controllers are required to complete the ATIS information and tune to the correct frequency before connecting to the server.
In the event that there are no further upper ATC facilities available, controllers shall instruct pilots to switch to UNICOM on the frequency 122.800 MHz.
Due to the low volume of traffic at Chiang Mai Airport, Chiang Mai Ground will be responsible for handling the delivery clearance for departing aircraft.
All IFR aircraft are to call “Chiang Mai Ground” 5 minutes prior to start up request for ATC clearance.
- After a Pilot has requested ATC Clearance to destination, Controller shall check, if following information in flight plan are filled correctly:
a. Flight rules
b. Equipment
c. SID and Route
d. Requested Flight Level
e. Destination Aerodrome
f. EET and Endurance
- Controller shall give appropriate ATC clearance with following information:
a. Callsign
b. Destination Aerodrome
c. Flight Level
d. SID and Route
e. Initial Climb (11,000 ft)
f. Transponder Code
g. NOTAMs (If Required)
NOTAMs: NOtice To AirMens.
SIDs: Standard Instrument Departures.
STARs: STandard Arrival Routes.

All IFR aircraft are to call “Ground Control” 5 minutes prior to start up request for ATC clearance.
In order to provide a more flexible ground traffic movement all domestic departures shall on longer be required to be ready to taxi
within 5 minutes after clearance received.
In the event of reduced traffic for departures and arrivals at Chiang Mai International Airport, if runway 36 is being utilized, the controller has the option to issue shortcuts for arriving aircraft, subject to traffic conditions and permissions, along the following routes:
Aircraft arriving on ENBAT2A, GOGOP2A, MARNI2A, PANTA2A or PUMAM2A can expect shortcut from the STARs transition point direct to RIGTA.
Aircraft arriving on CMA2A or ADLUS2A can expect shortcut from CC112 or CC113 direct to TASIV, then direct to PUKAT.
Aircraft arriving on ASAVI2A or KABMU2A can expect shortcut from the STARs transition point direct to TASIV, then direct to PUKAT.
Aircraft arriving on MONLO2A can expect shortcut from TASIV direct to PUKAT.
