Inverness Airport is not equipped for CAT II/III operations.
Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) are used to protect CAT I operations.
LVP’s will commence when:
Inverness QFE = QNH - 1 hPa
3000 ft
By ATC.
The most in to wind runway should be selected with a tailwind of less than 5 knots.
Inverness is situated outside of controlled airspace with no established SID‘s. AIR Should request a departure clearance from Inverness Radar (INT).
“LOG123, Cleared to join controlled airspace, After Departure left turn on track GRICE, Climb FL 90, Squawk 1234”
AIR should ensure that the correct Cleared level and Cleared Waypoint are set in the aircraft data tag before departure.
All stands are self manoeuvring and aircraft will request start-up on stand.
All departures (Except visual circuits) from Inverness require a release from Inverness Radar (INT).
Wake turbulence separation minima on departure shall be applied by measuring airborne times between successive aircraft. Take-off clearance may be issued with an allowance for the anticipated take-off run on the runway; however, the airborne time interval shall reflect a difference of at least the required time separation. ATC does not have the discretion to reduce wake turbulence separation minima.
CAA Departure seperation minima must be applied between departing aircraft. Departure separation minima can also be found within the XU Quickview.
The wake turbulence separation minima in the XU Quickview shall be applied to aircraft on final approach when:
(1) an aircraft is operating directly behind another aircraft at the same altitude or less than 1,000 ft below; or
(2) an aircraft is crossing behind another aircraft, at the same altitude or less than 1,000 ft below;
Inbound traffic from Scottish Control will descend to the standing agreement‘s.

A Radar seperation of 5 nm must be maintained.
Aircraft should be vectored to establish 2 nm before the Final approach point.

The following VRP’s are established for Inverness:
VFR transits should not enter the ATZ without approval from AIR.
Inverness Radar (INT) may provide UK Flight Information Services outside of CAS up to 40nm, subject to controller workload.
