The Badger pilot group is an important part of training sessions in the XU division. They help ADC, APC and ACC students by flying and creating scenarios which help progress the session. All Badger pilots receive a unique callsign which they can use inside and outside of training sessions. Trainee Badger callsigns are followed by a “T” which means the pilot has yet to complete their PP rating. This can be removed if the pilot is deemed competent by a member of the training team.
XU members are welcome to apply by opening a ticket in discord #ask the staff or by sending an email to the division. During this time, we highly recommend you fly for upcoming sessions to get a feel of Badger flying.
You must be willing to help fly for our student’s training sessions when you are free and available to do so. Once you have joined the Badgers you must fly at least one flight within 30 days of acceptance in order to keep your place. This restriction is removed once your first flight has been completed.
45-day rule
We ask all Badgers to fly at least once every 45 days in order to remain active. This is to keep skills sharp and to help minimise wasted sessions. Badgers who do not meet the requirements, will be pending removal and have a further 45-day grace period to fly at least once. If a member still does not fly during the grace period, they will be removed from the group.
Former Badgers who wish to re-join must contact the XU Training department via e-mail or Discord.
We plan a group flight between two airports, roughly one hour flying time from each other. This group flight is to provide a more relaxed environment where Badgers & XU Members can meet and fly with each other outside training and exams.
