IVAO Events Awards are special awards integrated to special events in the IVAO Community. These awards vary on their purpose, objective and definition. Check them below.
The IVAO Connect Events is a series of events organized solely by the IVAO Events Department in partnership with active IVAO divisions. The purpose is to increase our event’s network activity by connecting neighbour divisions through special events.
Three divisions will participate in these events, with each division having two airports, resulting in a total of six airports for the event. Pilots are required to complete two flights between these six airports, with the only condition being that the flights cannot be between two airports within the same division.
If no other specifications have been provided in the event forum post, please note that the minimum connection time for the leg to be considered valid will be one hour.
Avoid using outdated terms to refer to this award. “HQE Award”, “HQ Events Award”, "HQ Event", or “HQ Award” are no longer valid expressions. If you need an abbreviation, use "ESA" as in Events Support Award; or "E.S. Award".
The IVAO Events Support Award is a special award used to create activity and increase the attractiveness of an IVAO Event. Born upon the legacy of the old HQE Award, this award is integrated when the Divisional Events Department or the IVAO Events Department wants to highlight the importance of its event – generally speaking, this award is usually integrated into an RFE/RFO/MSE, PDE, or events that celebrate an important occasion such as an anniversary, an airbridge between two divisions, and more.
The participation as a pilot or ATC/FMC rewards points towards this award. Therefore, this award is available on multiple levels.
If no additional instructions are provided in the event announcement, users who wish to send their leg must adhere to the following guidelines:
Pilots: Complete the event flight or flights as specified
ATCOs or FMC: Have a connection for a minimum of one hour.
Note from the IVAO HQ Events Departement about RFE/RFO/MSE validation
We often receive several emails asking about the validation time for ESA. In this post, I would like to briefly explain how the validation system works.
When we validate, we have two types of events: RFE/RFO/MSE and other events. Non-RFE/RFO/MSE events are generally validated within 24-48 hours. However, for RFE/RFO and MSE events, we need more time due to two reasons:
Firstly, divisions must send us the flights that have been booked for that event. This is not always an easy task, so it takes a few extra days.
Secondly, validating these legs requires more time because we have to check each flight individually to see if it has been booked.
We hope this helps you understand the validation process
Also, even if the second report cannot be sent, once the first one is accepted, the second one can still be sent.
Thank you very much for participating in these events, and we hope to continue meeting your expectations!
Please note that these rules may be different for certain events. Any modifications to these guidelines will always be communicated through announcements in the event forum post.
Since August of 2021, the IVAO Events Department is no longer integrating the IVAO Relay Events Award into new IVAO Events due to limitations regarding the award itself.
The IVAO Relay Events Award is a special award used in yet another type of IVAO Event. It contains at least three different airports and its purpose is to fly between all of them. It was once used for other events types or awarded to pilots flying as a team, but pilots are now required to fly solo between all of the proposed routes. Therefore, a single participation in an IVAO Relay Event is enough for this award.
Divisional Events Awards are commonly integrated into normal IVAO Events, each Divisional Events Department is responsible for defining its own requirements according to the description of each award.
Amongst other awards, the Divisional Events Awards are described here.
