Line Manager: Development Operations Director (DOD) / Assistant Director (DOAD)
Description: Leading the Web Development team to create and maintain IVAO web systems.
Web Developer (WDx) responsibilities and duties:
- Use technical knowledge and personal input to assist the enhancement of IVAO’s web roadmap.
- Lead the development, staging, testing and production of IVAO web project(s).
- Code test, debug and deploy web project(s).
- Liaise with relevant Department(s) to discuss their needs to understand the specification of a web project.
- Coordinate with the Public Relations Department to ensure project(s) remain within IVAO’s branding guidelines.
- Provide assistance and support in the upkeep of IVAO’s web systems.
- Undertake period maintenance and upgrade including the implementation of contingency plans in the event of internal/ external failures.
- Investigate bugs, troubleshoot and resolve issues reported through the User Support team.
Web Developer Manager (WDM) responsibilities and duties (in addition to WDx):
- Liaise with other Team Leaders within the Development Operations Department to ensure an efficient experience for IVAO members where necessary.
- Coordinate the need for additional members of the Web Developer team with your Line Manager(s).
- Receive, sift and interview candidates for the role of Web Developer (WDx).
- Monitor the performance and activity of current Web Developer team members.
- Create dialog with ineffective members of the Web Developer team to discuss their inactivity.
- Coordinate the removal of a Web Developer team member where they have not positively adjusted to written communication from you with your Line Manager(s).
- Provide regular updates to your Line Manager(s) with activity and statistical reports regarding web systems.
- Communicate ideas or new possibilities to your Line Manager(s) where IVAO can offer a better or streamlined experience to its members.
- Attend, as necessary, Development Operations meetings as a representative of the Web Developer team.
