YOU MUST INSTALL ENGLISH TEXT-TO-SPEECH (TTS) PACKAGE FOR VOICE ATIS TO WORK!
Voice ATIS works by translating ATIS data into voice using text to speech (TTS). It is also possible to record your own voice.
In order for Voice ATIS to become available, you must be using Aurora version 1.3.0b or later.
If Voice ATIS controls do not appear for the control position you are on, this might be due to a few reasons:
- Your ATC position has an ATIS
- You are the priority in the sequence. More information here.
ATIS Priority sequence is: TWR > APP > GND > DEL
Upon connection, it is normal for ATIS window to be loading for a few seconds.
If you think your ATC position should have an ATIS position, please contact your divisional ATC Operations Department.
Currently only one ATIS is available for each aerodrome unless ATC Positions remove themselves from the sequence using the button on the top right.
When an ATC position leaves the sequence, their ATIS is only available via TEXT. Voice ATIS will be generated from the sequence.
You can choose which method of Voice ATIS you wish to use from the ATIS window.
If you believe the ATIS frequency in Aurora is wrong. You should contact your divisional ATC Operations Department.
ATIS on IVAO should be transmitted in English. To do so, we rely on Microsoft's Text-to-Speech (TTS) voices. To Install these voices you need to go into Windows Settings.
It is also possible to locate this page by searching Speech Settings on Windows Search.
After you install the English TTS Package, you can now ready to create your Voice ATIS.
If your TTS Package does not appear on the list. You can click on FORCE REFRESH LIST.
Keep in mind that when you're recording your own ATIS Information. You are responsible to renew the recording periodically.
On the ATIS window, select VOICE to use recording as ATIS.
For now, you should complete your recording in one go. Meaning you will not be able to pause the recording and add more things.
Once you're satisfied with your recording, click on the green circle again to start broadcasting your ATIS.
