¶ Arrival
The responsibility of Sakon Nakhon Approach is as follow:
- Clearing arrival STARs.
- Request position report from pilot (Radial / DME from Sakon Nakhon VOR (SKN) or Nakhon Phanom VOR (NKP) and passing altitude).
- Inform runway in use and approach procedure.
- Provide updated essential information (Such as changes in local pressure).
- Confirm ATIS information.
¶ Departure
The additional responsibility of Sakon Nakhon Approach is as follow:
- Clearing departure routes as established in SIDs, omnidirectional departures and non-standard departures.
- Coordinate with adjacent ATC unit concerning air traffic flow and safety.
- Provide updated essential information (Such as changes in local pressure).
¶ Bangkok Control LOA
¶ Arrival
Aircraft inbound for aerodrome in Sakon Nakhon Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Bangkok Control to Sakon Nakhon Approach when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 25 NM prior to entering Sakon Nakhon Approach airspace.
- Bangkok Control shall clear the aircraft to descend to FL130 before transfering control of aircraft to Sakon Nakhon Approach.
- Bangkok Control shall inform the aircraft on transfer "Radar service terminated".
¶ Departure
Aircraft outbound from aerodrome in Sakon Nakhon Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Sakon Nakhon Approach to Bangkok Control when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- When leaving the Sakon Nakhon Terminal Control Area (Vertical or Lateral limit).
- Sakon Nakhon Approach shall clear the aircraft to climb to 11,000 ft before transfering control of aircraft to Bangkok Control.
- Sakon Nakhon Approach may request further climb from Bangkok Control for outbound traffic.
¶ Vientiane Control LOA
¶ Arrival
Aircraft inbound for aerodrome in Sakon Nakhon Thani Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Vientiane Control to Sakon Nakhon Approach when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 2 minute before entering Sakon Nakhon Approach airspace area.
¶ Departure
Aircraft outbound from aerodrome in Sakon Nakhon Thani Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Sakon Nakhon Approach to Vientiane Control when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 2 minute before entering Vientiane Control airspace area.
