The responsibility of Loei Approach is as follow:
- Clearing arrival STARs.
- Request position report from pilot (Radial / DME from Loei VOR (LOY) and passing altitude).
- Inform runway in use and approach procedure.
- Provide updated essential information (Such as changes in local pressure).
- Confirm ATIS information.
The additional responsibility of Loei Approach is as follow:
- Clearing departure routes as established in SIDs, omnidirectional departures and non-standard departures.
- Coordinate with adjacent ATC unit concerning air traffic flow and safety.
- Provide updated essential information (Such as changes in local pressure).
Aircraft inbound for aerodrome in Loei Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Bangkok Control to Loei Approach when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 25 NM prior to entering Loei Approach airspace.
- Bangkok Control shall clear the aircraft to descend to FL130 before transfering control of aircraft to Loei Approach.
- Bangkok Control shall inform the aircraft on transfer "Radar service terminated".
Aircraft outbound from aerodrome in Loei Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Loei Approach to Bangkok Control when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- When leaving the Loei Terminal Control Area (Vertical or Lateral limit).
- Loei Approach shall clear the aircraft to climb to 11,000 ft before transfering control of aircraft to Bangkok Control.
- Loei Approach may request further climb from Bangkok Control for outbound traffic.
Aircraft inbound for aerodrome in Loei Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Udon Approach to Loei Approach when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 2 minute before entering Loei Approach airspace area.
Aircraft outbound from aerodrome in Loei Terminal Control Area shall be transfer from Loei Approach to Udon Approach when:
- The aircraft is clear of conflict.
- At least 2 minute before entering Udon Approach airspace area.
