IVAO User Events are a highlight of our community's own proactivity and creativity. These events are created by the non-staff members of our community and are encouraged to follow these procedures to become more attractive through promotion on our official IVAO Events Forum board.
¶ Introduction and generalities
IVAO User Events were born due to a demand presented by the IVAO Community. Due to increasing user events published in 2015 and 2016, the IVAO Events Department decided to create a new event category to accomodate this demand. Some regulations were incorporated, such as:
- User Events must not be organized by an IVAO staff member.
- When organizing an User Event in an active division, make sure you seek the approval from the Divisional Events Department. The reason for this is to deconflict your event with other official events organized/planned by the division and to check the compliance of it. The Divisional Events Department has the complete liberty of approving an event or not.
- An User Event cannot be added to the IVAO Calendar System.
- User Events must be announced in the following standard format: [01 JAN | 12z - 22z] Fly-in Oslo.
- Past User Events will be moved into the Past Events forum board without prior notice.
- Every new User Event needs to be approved by the IVAO Events Department team in order to be visible to the public. This is done to check the compliance of the event with the regulations above and below.

- Make sure your event complies with IVAO Rules & Regulations.
- Contact your Divisional Events Department and get their approval.
a. User events must be organized in an active division.

- Create a banner for your User Event publication.
a. Size: 1200px X 800px.
b. The banner must not display: the logo and the name of the hosting division, nor the IVAO logo.

- Post your User Event at the IVAO Events - User Events board.
a. All the event names and descriptions must be in the English language.

- The IVAO Events Department will evaluate the post and therefore your request.

- If the decision is to approve it:
a. The User Event post will become visible to all IVAO members.

- If the decision is to reject it:
a. The IVAO Events Department will contact you and provide you with the reason for the decision.
Simply requesting an User Event is not a guarantee that approval will be given. This notice of approval will be sent to the requester though their registered IVAO email and copied to the Divisional Events Department.
